This is not a corporate study tour. It is a small group of Belgian entrepreneurs who want to understand where the world is heading.
China has a special place in my heart. I lived in Beijing for a year as a Prince Albert Fund graduate in 2010, developing the local office of 3E. That was before mobile internet, before WeChat, before everything that defines China today.
Going back has been on my mind for a while. Now feels like the right moment, and the right thing to do with friends rather than alone.

Hong Kong is a soft landing and a good gateway. Shenzhen is where hardware happens, from humanoid robots to drones to BYD. Hangzhou is the AI capital of China, home to Alibaba, Unitree, DeepSeek-adjacent labs. Shanghai is where everything scales up and where you meet the European business community. Together they cover the full stack from prototype to scale.
Land logistics: hotels, in-country transport, company visits and dinners, local fixer and translator support, group activities. Not included: international flights, China visa, travel insurance, personal expenses, and a few free evenings.
Formal tours organised by Agoria or Nexxworks typically rack up from 9 to 15k EUR for a week on the ground. We plan to immerse ourselves in real life: boutique hotels, local restaurants, less polish, more substance. The tour is facilitated by a local travel agency, but we do not carry the cost of a heavy organising layer on top. That is how we land in the 7-9k range.
Yes. Partners, friends and colleagues are welcome as long as they fit the spirit: Belgian entrepreneurial. The group stays intentionally small and focused. Twin rooms are available (partner or friend), which also saves on cost.

The exact programme is confirmed during the summer. Be open for last-minute changes as well, China moves fast and the best visits often get added late.
We are in talks with seasoned local providers, including ones that have worked with Nexxworks and with Matt Stefani (France's #1 podcaster, Generation Do It Yourself). They handle ground logistics. I add the personal and Belgian touch.
Absolutely. A few afternoons to wander the city, catch up with European business contacts, or just grasp China at your own pace. We also plan nice group activities during the weekend.
No. English works for most company visits, and the local fixer handles everything else. Tech founders in China increasingly operate in English at the executive level.
Belgian passport holders currently get visa-free entry to mainland China for up to 30 days (policy active through end of 2026, subject to change). Hong Kong is visa-free anyway. You do need a valid passport. I will share a full travel pack closer to the date.
Belgian entrepreneurs and operators, mostly 35-50, mix of tech, industry, and services backgrounds. Group size capped at ~20 to keep the intimacy.
